A superb 1930s Mole Richardson theatre lamp. Peter Mole founded the company in 1927, initially from his work within property where early filmmakers lighting equipment was not fulfilling its potential. Therefore, he went on to utilise the new incandescent lighting for modern theatre lamps. The company created the first Fresnel Solar Spot unit in 1935, adapting the fresnel lighthouse lens for use in motion pictures and consequently transforming the cinematic lighting industry. The theatre lamps are Type 410 Solar Spots, have the Mole Richardson logo on the back of the lamp head & original plaques bearing the model & serial numbers. The lamp head sits on a wooden tripod with metal feet. The theatre lamp is in excellent condition & looks extremely classy.
